A one-touch quick-lock mechanism makes it easy to attach or detach the 430EX II from the camera and a metal foot has been added for strength and durability.

How to Use
Off-Camera Flash

Canon Speedlites can be connected to compatible EOS or PowerShot cameras either wirelessly or via extension flash cord. This offers a great deal of flexibility in choosing flash placement, the end result being easier creative expression and more beautiful photos!

The wireless capability of these Speedlites — when used with compatible EOS or PowerShot cameras — gives you a great deal of freedom in flash placement, expanding creative possibilities for stunning photographs.

Wireless multiple flash system with Radio Transmission

Up to 5 groups, or 15 individual flashes can be controlled via 1 transmitter.

Canon Speedlites are compatible with all EOS cameras (except the EOS M100 and EOS M10). Also compatible with the following PowerShot models: PowerShot G1 X Mark III, PowerShot G1 X Mark II, PowerShot G3 X and PowerShot G5 X.
The Speedlite 470EX-AI is not compatible with PowerShot cameras.

All EOS cameras (except the EOS M100 and EOS M10), the PowerShot G1 X Mark III, PowerShot G1 X Mark II, PowerShot G3 X, PowerShot G5 X and Canon Speedlites can be connected via the Off-Camera Shoe CordOC-E3. This allows the flash to be placed up to 2 ft. from the camera.
