Fujifilm X-Pro1 Reviews

Photographyblog reviews the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and writes;
“the X-Pro1’s innovative image sensor and lack of low-pass filter lives up to all the hype and more, delivering truly excellent image quality. Noise is noticeable only by its almost complete absence throughout the ISO range of 100-25,600, while the Dynamic Range function helps to boost contrast and detail.”

Photoreview reviews the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and writes;
“Shots taken at high ISO settings were consistently clean and noise-free up to ISO 6400. Long exposures at higher ISO settings showed signs of progressive softening as sensitivity was increased, largely as a result of noise-reduction processing. However, even shots taken at ISO 25600 made good-looking prints at 15 x 10 cm size –and slightly larger.”

Imaging-resource reviews the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and writes;
“the Fuji X-Pro1’s performance was a mixed bag during our testing. Startup time and mode switching were sluggish, while autofocus speed was slightly below average these days. Prefocused shutter lag however was good, as were single-shot cycle times. Burst mode speeds were good,.”

Techradar reviews the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and writes;
“The camera produces beautiful, film-like images with good contrast and smooth out of focus areas. Low sensitivity images impress straight from the camera, having plenty of detail, pleasant colours and beautiful out of focus areas.”

CNET reviews the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and writes;
“the continuous-shooting performance is pretty good. It’s relatively fast at 5.2 frames per second, and the hybrid viewfinder means zero lag for framing while panning.”

Engadget reviews the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and writes;
“Images at high ISO settings were pretty good compared to other compacts we’ve reviewed, including the NEX-7 and the G1 X. Shots at ISO 3200 looked fine, and where we did spot grain at higher sensitivities it had a pleasant mottled look to it — in keeping with the X-Pro1’s analog vibes.”

Ephotozine reviews the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and writes;
“The Fujifilm X-Pro1 is a fantastic camera, in every area it produces the results expected from a premium quality camera. The image quality is stunning, with excellent, and I really mean excellent pixel level detail, with excellent colour reproduction, great dynamic range, excellent high ISO noise results and excellent JPEG output straight from the camera.”

Pocket-lint reviews the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and writes;
“What the Fuji X-Pro1 does offer, as well as an enticing alternative to anyone who has ever lusted after a Leica camera before. It’s an opportunity to leave that bulky enthusiast digital SLR at home and still be able to achieve impressive image quality.”

Whatdigitalcamera reviews the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and writes;
“the final images, overall build quality and unique technologies more than make up its worth. It’s cheaper than a full-frame DSLR, outpaces the Sigma SD1 camera in performance and price, and will more than give Leica a run for its money.”

The sensor offers the new color filter array paves the way for an ideal sensor that does not need an optical low-pass filter. While the optical low-pass filter is indispensable for the reduction of moiré and false color generated by conventional sensors, it also degrades resolution.
