The Datsun 720 was released in 1980 in two sizes, regular and King Cab, and it gave buyers the option of two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Entry models were pretty basic, with cloth trim and few instruments. However, other models also had air-conditioning, a tachometer, and optional cruise control. Engine choices were all four-cylinder, ranging from 2.0 liters up to 2.4. In 1986, the next-generation D21 pick-up was unofficially named the Nissan Hardbody, because of its double-walled sides. It also had standard and long load bays. As well as a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, there was also a 3.0-liter V6. Luxury kit was comprehensive, and was enhanced through the truck’s life.
